Atlanta Dream
The Atlanta Dream is in its sixth season as a member of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Dream plays in the Eastern Conference, along with the Chicago Sky, Connecticut Sun, Indiana Fever, New York Liberty and Washington Mystics. The Dream has won two Eastern Conference Championships, and reached the postseason in each of the past four seasons entering the 2013 season.
The Dream’s roster includes three All-Stars and two players who played in the 2012 London Olympics. Angel McCoughtry, the WNBA’s scoring champion in 2012, helped lead Team USA to the gold medal as the team’s second-leading scorer in London, while center Erika de Souza led Brazil in scoring and rebounding.
Atlanta has excelled in home games, as Philips Arena provides an intimidating home-court advantage for the Dream. The team plays an up-tempo and entertaining brand of basketball, consistently ranking among the top-scoring teams in the league.
Led by Atlanta’s only all-female ownership group of Mary Brock and Kelly Loeffler, along with Head Coach/General Manager Fred Williams, the Dream continues its quest for a WNBA crown, and fills Philips Arena with excitement for 17 regular-season games each year.
