ATLANTA, GA -- A successful start to 2014 places Philips Arena among the top venues in the country, according to industry-leading publication Pollstar Magazine. Philips Arena ranked third in the United States in Pollstar’s 2014 Mid-Year Report of the top 100 arena venues and 21st worldwide.

Coming up on its 15-year anniversary, Philips Arena has a solid history of ranking among the top venues in the country. This most recent mid-year report marks the ninth time since opening that Philips Arena has been ranked in the top 5 United States venues. This successful run is just second to Madison Square Garden with 13 times.

“To consistently rank among the top venues in the country is a tribute to our talented team’s dedication to bringing world-class entertainment to Atlanta and a reflection of our city’s passion and enthusiasm for live events,” said Steve Koonin, Chief Executive Officer, Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena.

“It is an honor to be recognized for our ongoing commitment to bringing the best in live entertainment to the city of Atlanta,” said Trey Feazell, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Philips Arena. “Thanks to the support of the fans, artists, managers, agents, promoters and our dedicated staff, the first half of 2014 has been a tremendous success.”

The mid-year rankings are determined by tickets sold worldwide for concerts taking place January 1, 2014 to June 30, 2014. During this time Philips Arena hosted many of the Top 100 Worldwide Tours, including George Strait, Eagles, Cher, Miley Cyrus, Kings of Leon, Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Lady Gaga, Jeff Dunham and Imagine Dragons.

Looking ahead at the remainder of 2014, the venue will once again close out the year with a strong lineup including events such as Oprah’s The Life You Want Weekend (Sept. 5 – 6), Disney On Ice presents Frozen (Oct. 8 – 12), Paul McCartney (Oct. 15), The Black Keys (Dec. 11), Fleetwood Mac (Dec. 17) and more.
