PHILIPS ARENA NOMINATED FOR IEBA’S 2015 VENUE OF THE YEAR AWARD
Philips Arena is among six nominees to be recognized as part of International Entertainment Buyers Association’s Venue of the Year at IEBA’s 2015 Industry Awards celebration on Oct. 13.
Philips Arena is among six nominees to be recognized as part of International Entertainment Buyers Association’s Venue of the Year at IEBA’s 2015 Industry Awards celebration on Oct. 13. The event, held at The CMA Theater at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville, recognizes venues, events and entertainment professionals who have excelled in the area of booking.

In 2014, Philips Arena ranked No. 4 in the United States and No. 10 in the world for ticket sales by leading entertainment industry publication Pollstar Magazine. The venue has consistently placed among the top 5 venues in the United States, including four of the last five years. Philips Arena has hosted many of the top ranked tours of 2015 so far, including Maroon 5, Charlie Wilson, Billy Joel, Fleetwood Mac, Kevin Hart, Maná, Shania Twain, Luke Bryan, Mötley Crüe, Ed Sheeran and Marc Anthony & Carlos Vives, as well as a variety of events and family shows such as Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, WWE Raw, The Harlem Globetrotters, the 2015 Neighborhood Awards and Disney On Ice.
Looking ahead at the rest of the year, the venue will host Ricky Martin (Oct. 22), The Comedy Get Down (Oct. 24), Dead and Company (Nov. 17), WWE Survivor Series (Nov. 22), Beer & Tacos Fest (Nov. 28), The Weeknd (Dec. 15), Jingle Ball (Dec. 17) and more events to be announced.
The other nominees for IEBA’s Venue of the Year are Allstate Arena (Rosemont, IL), BOK Center (Tulsa, OK), Bridgestone Arena (Nashville, TN), The Forum (Los Angeles, CA) and Talking Stick Resort Arena (formerly US Airways Center, Phoenix, AZ).
