The American Association of Adapted Sports Programs is an Interscholastic Athletic Association that serves children with physical disabilities. Last season, the AAASP attended both Hawks and Thrashers games, and had a terrific time! They were involved in a wheelchair basketball demonstration on the court during halftime, and also a power wheelchair hockey demonstration that took place in the CNN center. We had the chance to speak with Sarah Nash, Director of Communications for the AAASP, about her experience last year:

“The athletes had such a great time! We had just won a championship, and the opportunity to play during the Hawks game made them even prouder of everything they accomplished – not to mention they were very impressed with the dancers (laugh). I even brought my 2 year old son out and he loved it. We would definitely like to come out again this year.”
